Kylan Patterson Obituary: Early Life and Education
Kylan Patterson was born on July 22, 1994 in Altamonte Springs, Florida to parents Chris and Heidi Halverson Patterson. He graduated from Solon High School in 2012 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Northern Iowa in May 2023.
At the time of his passing, Kylan worked at Procter & Gamble in Iowa City. He was building a bright future and early career when his life was suddenly cut short.
A Loving Family
Kylan is survived by his parents Chris and Heidi, sisters Emma and MK, grandparents Jim and Cuba Patterson, and aunt Carrie Clausen with cousins Ellie and Grace.
He cherished spending quality time with his tight-knit family and creating special memories with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins over the years. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in their hearts.
Passions and Interests
In his free time, Kylan enjoyed watching sports like Twins baseball and the Chicago Bears. He loved the camaraderie and excitement of Hawkeye football tailgates with friends. Kylan also liked gaming, anime, playing cards and board games.
Above all, Kylan had a deep affection for animals. His loving nature shone through in the kindness he showed to all creatures great and small.
A Community in Mourning
While the circumstances around Kylan Patterson’s tragic, premature passing remain unclear, the grief felt by his family, friends and greater community is immense. In just 29 short years, Kylan touched countless lives through his warm spirit.
