Patrick Girdaukas Obituary: Patrick’s Musical Passions
Music was Patrick Girdaukas’ greatest passion. He began cultivating his talents in elementary school, playing tenor saxophone in band. Patrick graduated from Libertyville High School, where he remained heavily involved in the school’s esteemed band programs.
He went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Music from Carthage College. Patrick cherished performing in the college’s pep band and other ensembles. After graduation, he shared his gifts by teaching elementary music.
Patrick was also a founding member of local band Sneezy, where he first met his wife Frances in 2012. His love for her equaled his love of music.
A Devoted Husband
Patrick married the love of his life, Frances Skurski, in July 2021. The past two years spent happily married in their Lindenhurst home were the fullest of Patrick’s life. His loved ones know he treasured this special time with his wife.
While Patrick’s loss leaves them brokenhearted, the solace of memories and his beautiful union with Frances will help sustain them.
A Community Says Goodbye
The circumstances around 31-year-old Patrick Girdaukas’ tragic passing are unclear. However the immense outpouring of grief across social media makes evident the impact Patrick made through his music, warm spirit and commitment to community.
Funeral services honoring Patrick’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd., Libertyville, IL. A visitation for Patrick will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home. Donations can be made to mental health organizations or St. Anne’s Church in his memory.
Though gone far too soon, the legacy of Patrick Girdaukas persists through song and the countless lives touched by his musical gifts. His memory lives on in harmony.
