James Parker Obituary 2023: Dr. Parker’s Background

A Utah native, Dr. James Parker was born and raised in Layton. He earned dual Bachelor’s degrees from Utah State University, where he was a standout track & field athlete. Dr. Parker went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2011.

Before chiropractic school, Dr. Parker honorably served his country for six years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team and 3-time national hammer throw champion.

Career and Contributions

Dr. Parker opened the Parker Muscle & Sports Clinic in Kaysville, where he served patients with an expertise in chiropractic care, sports medicine, rehabilitation and more. He was a consultant for USA Track & Field and the BYU basketball team.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Parker gave back through community education on health, wellness and injury prevention. He touched many lives through his compassionate patient care and leadership.
