Nathan Plagmann Obituary: Early Life Exploring the Montana Wilderness
Born in Billings in 1978 to Richard and Karen Plagmann, Nathan grew up fishing, hunting and hiking with his father, brother Shay, and friends. These outdoor adventures fostered his deep love of nature. After graduating high school in 1997, Nathan continued on to earn his business degree from MSU-Billings in 2002.
Marrying His Sweetheart
During his 20s, Nathan began dating his sweetheart, Alicia Dye. The two shared a special bond fueled by their many common interests. On July 24, 2010, they celebrated their love with a wedding in Missoula surrounded by family and friends.
Fatherhood – Nathan’s Greatest Joy
Nathan and Alicia were blessed with two children who became the lights of their lives. Their son Vick, now 11, and daughter Lyla, 8, were absolutely treasured by Nathan. Nothing compared to being their father. The family enjoyed ski trips, baseball games, gymnastics meets and traveling together, making lifelong memories.

Nathan’s unexpected passing while out for a run devastated his family and community. As his parents, wife Alicia, brother Shay, and extended family mourn, they are grateful for the outpouring of support. The donations and kind words provide comfort during this heartbreaking loss.
