Lacitrus Gholston Obituary : Early Life and Family
Lacitrus was born on July 9, 1990 in Toccoa, GA to parents Lyshanda Kenester Dubose and Wade Cameron Hunter. He was raised in the church, joining Trinity CME in Toccoa at a young age. Lacitrus came from a large family, with many brothers, sisters, and extended relatives who loved him dearly.
Parents and Siblings
Lacitrus’ mother Lyshanda and father Wade instilled strong values and a loving upbringing. He is survived by his parents, as well as eight brothers: Arsenio, Cameron, Defarrell, Ikell, Damarian, Montavious, Broadus, and Jeremiah. He also leaves behind three sisters: Karri, M’Naijah, and Zykeyia.
Sons
Lacitrus was a devoted father to three sons: Janareon and Kewonta Riley of Lavonia, GA, and Jacir Trammell of Toccoa, GA. Though he left this world too soon, his legacy lives on through his children.
Passing and Remembrances
At the young age of 32, Lacitrus passed away on September 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Shirley Colbert Hunter, and his adoptive mother, Katherine Gholston.
Services
Friends and family gathered to honor and celebrate Lacitrus’ life during viewings and funeral services in Toccoa. A viewing was held at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9, and his funeral service took place the next day at First Baptist Church. He was laid to rest at Toccoa City Cemetery.

Though Lacitrus left this earth far too soon, he leaves behind many loved ones with cherished memories. His family and friends remember him for his kind heart, bright spirit, and the love he gave to everyone he knew.

Lacitrus leaves behind his heartbroken parents, siblings, sons, grandfather Hick, grandmother Mary, and many other grieving relatives. Each of them will deeply miss his presence in their lives.

Many friends are also mourning Lacitrus’ untimely passing. His best friend Daniel Blasco and close friend Misty Caudell will forever remember the good times they shared.
Continuing His Legacy
Though Lacitrus is no longer here physically, his spirit lives on through his children and loved ones. They will honor his memory by continuing the kindness and joy he brought to this world.
A Life Gone Too Soon
32 short years was not enough time for someone as special as Lacitrus. Though his time here ended abruptly, the imprint he made will outlast his earthly presence. He touched countless lives through his generosity and loving spirit. Lacitrus Asonta Dubose Gholston will remain in the hearts of his family and friends, always.
