UFC Fight Night: The octagon travels to Sao Paulo, Brazil this Saturday, November 4 for an exciting night of fights at UFC Fight tomorrow Night: Almeida vs. Lewis. Headlining the card is a heavyweight showdown between two of the division’s heaviest hitters, No. 9 ranked Jailton Almeida and No. 10 ranked Derrick Lewis.
In the co-main event, undefeated welterweight Gabriel Bonfim looks to continue his rise up the ranks against veteran Nicolas Dalby. Also featured on the main card are several Brazilian fighters, including jiu-jitsu ace Rodolfo Viera and rising middleweight Caio Borralho.
The Main Event: A Clash of Heavyweight Strikers
Jailton Almeida and Derrick Lewis both possess incredible knockout power. Almeida has finished all six of his UFC wins, while Lewis holds the record for most knockouts in UFC heavyweight history with 13. When these two start swinging, someone is likely going to sleep.
Almeida will have a four-inch height and six-inch reach advantage over Lewis, which could play a factor if he uses his length well. However, Lewis has fought and defeated taller opponents throughout his career using his speed and power. He also carries one-punch knockout power in his fists.
This main event is an intriguing clash of styles and knockout artists. Expect fireworks when these two giants start letting their hands fly in the center of the octagon.
The Co-Main Event: Bonfim’s Undefeated Record on the Line
In the co-main event, Gabriel Bonfim looks to continue his undefeated rise against veteran Nicolas Dalby. Bonfim has finished all three of his UFC opponents in the first round, including a rare calf slicer submission in his last fight.
Dalby will be a major step up in competition for Bonfim. He has over 40 professional fights and has battled top competition. His experience and well-rounded skills will test the up-and-comer.
This fight should determine whether Bonfim is truly a future title contender at 170 pounds. A statement win over Dalby would earn him a top 15 ranking.
Hometown Heroes Lead the Main Card
The main card features several Brazilian fighters competing in front of their home crowd. BJJ black belt Rodolfo Viera returns against Armenia’s Armen Petrosyan. Viera is an Abu Dhabi Combat Club champion looking to showcase his elite grappling skills.
Exciting middleweight Caio Borralho also competes at home against Abus Magomedov. Borralho is coming off a huge knockout win over Armen Petrosyan and aims to take out another grappling-based opponent. A win could propel Borralho into the top 15 rankings at 185 pounds.
Prelims Packed with Talent
Before the main card kicks off at 9 PM ET, the prelims feature several fights with ranking implications. In a lightweight bout, Brazil’s Ismael Bonfim takes on Vinc Pichel, while Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos returns against undefeated Rinat Fakhretdinov at welterweight.
The main card and prelims are stacked with talent from top to bottom. Tune in Saturday night for can’t-miss action featuring Brazil’s top prospects and contenders. UFC Fight Night: Almeida vs. Lewis is set to deliver fireworks.
