Cody Sargent Obituary: The small town of Johnstown, Colorado is mourning the loss of one of their own, Cody Allen Colorado “MF” Sargent, who passed away on November 1, 2023 at the young age of 38. A visitation will be held for Cody on Friday, November 10th from 2-4pm at the First Christian Church in Johnstown, followed by a funeral service at 4pm.
Early Life
Cody was born on July 25, 1985 in Casper, Wyoming to parents Brett Sargent and Dee Lowry. He graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 2004 in Casper. Cody reconnected with his future wife Frances in 2010, having first met her in elementary school. The two were married in 2014.
Work Life
Cody spent the majority of his career working in the oil fields, where he met many of his lifelong friends who became like family. It was this work that first brought Cody to Johnstown, when he packed up Frances and her son Owen, whom he loved like his own, and moved them all to Colorado in hopes of providing a better life together.
Hobbies & Passions
From an early age, Cody loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with his father Brett. He made countless friends through his hobbies and was always up for a reason to get together and talk over some beers. Cody was known for being both spontaneous and dependable – if you invited him somewhere, he’d be there without excuse.
Cody’s Legacy
Cody will be remembered for his big heart – he loved to help others and took great pride in being useful and spreading his knowledge. So it’s fitting that he chose to be an organ donor, giving 5 others the gift of life after his passing. This final act of selflessness created a living legacy that will allow Cody to continue impacting those around him.
Saying Goodbye
Cody sargent death leaves behind his wife Frances, their son Owen, his father Brett, mother Dee, siblings Kaycee, Erin and Ashkia, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Jerry and Ron, grandmother Lenora, uncle Bart, and mother-in-law Joy.
